Why FurMate
Our story began amidst the Covid lockdown when we expanded our family, adopting Joby, an Australian Cattle Dog known for his remarkable loyalty. Alongside Joby, there has been Minnie, our wise Pomchi, a cherished family member for over 13 years. Each one came with their unique set of complications. Joby struggles with arthritis from a previous injury, while Minnie contends with irritable bowel syndrome.
Our main priority soon shifted to ensure their well-being. We quickly understood that Joby's joint health depended significantly on maintaining a healthy weight to avoid unnecessary strain. Minnie, on the other hand, required meticulous monitoring of her food intake to prevent upsetting her sensitive stomach. In the quest for a practical solution, I experimented with several pet care apps. However, most led me to endlessly flip through pages of data in search of information from days or months past.
Despite having no programming background, I was motivated by passion and determination for my dogs to create an app that suits their needs. After months of dedicated work, After months of determined effort, I was finally able to bring FurMate to life.
As a solo developer, I appreciate thoughts and feedback as I continually strive to improve FurMate. My ultimate goal is for this app to become the perfect companion for pet parents who view their furry friends as more than just pets, but valued family members.
